Anika Johnson…

A couple weeks ago I had a session with Anika and her grandparents.  This session was for mom and dad as well as Anika’s 3 year old photos. Anika was a joy as always! I made a collage of a series that I loved. She was dancing for us and making me laugh. Here is the collage and a couple favorites…Thanks to Sophia, Aaron and Anika for coming to see me!

Too long…

I am a blog slacker.  Its been just a touch too long since I last posted and its been driving me nuts. Its not that I dont have plenty to share with everyone…Can I blame the heat?  That seems to be what everyone is complaining about. But I guess that would not be fair of me since I am sitting pretty in a nice air conditioned office. I have been running around like crazy living my hectic (but fun) life.  I have not had a whole lot of extra time sitting at my computer unless I am editing and working on cilent images.

Life has been throwing some curve balls and I have been doing my best to hold out my mitt and catch them.  I have also been doing my best to take some time to “LIVE!”  Which I highly reccomend to everyone.  I tend to be a bit of a work-o-holic and forget to take some time for myself, husband and friends.  Just remember to hold your family and friends close and ENJOY LIFE!  Work will always be there.  I hope everyone is enjoying their summers?  I have some sneak peak’s to post on the blog a well as a bit of me playing over the last couple weeks…Stay tuned!

Warm and Fuzzies…

I LOVE getting those Thank You’s from my clients! I also know that they mean so much to me that its nice to share them once in a while. The one I received yesterday was a client who emailed to say thank you a year after their wedding…They just had their anniversary and thought of us! It makes me all warm and fuzzy.

To Ashlee and Steve…Thank you so much for letting us be a part of your special day! It meant a lot to both Dan and I that we could share it with you.  And a HUGE thank you for taking the time to write! It means the world to me and is a good reminder of why I LOVE what I do. Hugs to you both…and hopefully will be seeing you when you decide to grow your family!

Here is the email I received…

Hey Whitney,

Just wanted to drop you a line and say thanks (a year later) for our fantastic wedding pictures and soho album!  It is amazing the giddiness I still get every time I look at our album (as I just did on our 1 year wedding anniversary this weekend)… and a lot of that is all because of you with your beautiful creativity in designing our album.  So glad we chose you and Dan… you are fabulous!

Thanks again & take care,
Ashlee & Steve

Kurimoto Family

I just have to say what a wonderful family the Kurimoto’s are! Dan works with Brent (first photo…far left) at onOne Software and we have spent some time with him and his wife, Becky.  Since we already knew part of the family I had a good feeling the shoot was going to be awesome. The path we photographed on is right by my studio and is typically used as a bike path. I of course had the wild hair brained idea that I wanted the green velvet couch brought out to the path.  That couch is NOT light. Well, maybe its not too bad but its akward to carry. Luckily Dan insisted that Brent was tuff so I had no fear…The boys carried it out of the studio, down the stairs and to the bike path (thanks boys!). It was just what I was hoping for. I love the shots we got on the couch! And hopefully we didnt make too many bikers mad…I shot quickly so we could get out of their way. Thanks Brent for sending your family our way! And thanks to all the Kurimoto family for coming to see us.  Here are a couple of my favorite images from their session.

Landon’s 6 Month Session…

Little Landon is growing up so fast! Before I know it he is going to be a year…Just makes me feel old! He is just as cute as ever and makes me want to give him “aunt” kisses! Thanks to my little Sis for her patience while I worked on these….Give Landon a kiss from ME!

*New Product Alert*

One more awesome new product to share. I have had several of my Boudoir Clients asking about a Pinup Calendar. I chatted about ideas with a recent Boudoir Client and found a creative solution for a Bliss Pinup Calendar! These calendars are 12×18, mounted and are to be hung with a ribbon. I have three design styles to chose from. If you are interested in purchasing a Calendar from an old Boudoir Session please contact me. The calendar starts from Jan 2010 and would be a great Christmas Present! No archive fee for old Boudoir Sessions if ordered by July 20, 2009. Call or email for more information on the Calendars.

*New Product Alert*

Its a crazy week of new products to share. This one we have been working on for a while now.  We are transitioning from our old collages that have a more traditional look to them…to a fun new collage. These will be a little more custom and can have 2-6 images on them. They are 20×20 and will be framed and ready to hang on the wall.  And dont worry…for those of you who still want a more traditional collage we will still carry a couple of the styles for a while. But check out the new look…

*New Product Alert*

Some of you may have already seen my sample album but I thought I would post it here for those of you who have not. These albums are 12 pages, custom designed and fabulous! Albums as many of you know are one of my favorite things to design. These albums are fantastic for those who are having a hard time narrowing down the images. I will design your album with 12-24 of your favorite images. You can also include 1-2 quotes in the album. There is an array of colors to chose from for the cover which makes the process even more fun. If you are in Reno our Portrait Consultant, Teri has a sample family album to share. If you are in Oregon I have the hot pink album of the Heckmann Girls. If this is something you are interested in please let me know when we schedule your session. Here is a couple shots of the album…

Vintage Shoot…

Every once in a while I like to have a session that is just for fun. Either with a friend or family member or just because I have a wild hair. I had some free time in Reno and had been itching to shoot in a vintage looking laundromat. I could see what I wanted in my head so the search was on to find the well…ugliest looking laudromat possible :) I also wanted a crazy outfit which was not as easy to find as I had hoped. First things first…Location.  We actually found the location on the first try. We had a suggestion of where to look and the spot was perfect. Then on to find the outfit. My mom and I looked everywhere for a not too expensive outfit. After going just about everywhere we could think of we ended up at a Bridal Shop in Reno, Marchele’s Bridal Boutique. We explained the shoot to wonderful Michele and she ran into the back and brought out the perfect dress. We ended up making the dress into a skirt but it still had the crazy look I was hoping for. Thanks for your help Michele!  My model was my fabulous sister Destiny (you may have seen the shot I posted a few days back) who was brave enough to get down and dirty for the session. My mom assisted…and I could not have been more happy with the images we got. Both my mom and my sister embrace my crazy ideas and I am thankful that they were up for the session. Here are my favorites…
