Trip to Canada…

This last weekend we were in Vancouver, BC.  Dan had to speak at Epson Print Academy and since it was a holiday weekend I thought I would tag along so we could have a mini vacation.  Canada was beautiful. The weather was great and we really enjoyed walking around Stanely Park.  We also visited the Aquarium which is located in the middle of the park. I wish we would have had an extra day and we would have visited Victoria as well…I guess we will have to save that for the next trip. Here are some of the photos I took on our trip…

And my personal favorite…The Red LionFish.  He was posing for his shot!

Bowling Mania…

Some of you already know I am a bowler…I have actually been bowling since I was a kid. In fact I pratically grew up in the bowling alley. My dad was a bowler and was in leagues and as a kid I was even in a couple of leagues. As an adult I still like to go bowling and am in a league with my husband and two good friends, Jessica and Jeff.  This past summer my hubby decided he would join the league as soon as he found out he could win patches. He is a boy scout at heart…so the thought of patches sounded fun.  Well…he cleaned house with 4 or 5 patches.  So this last season I was on a mission to win a couple. I did not win nearly as many as Dan but I managed to pull a couple out… Here is a photo of my “Bowling Patches”.  I am silly….I know. Stay tuned for photos from my trip to Canada this last weekend.

Leehane Family…

Mother’s Day weekend we met the Leehane’s in the Pearl District of downtown Portland. It was a little chilly out but a beautiful day to take photos.  We started at Tanner Springs Park but little Sean needed to run off some energy so we headed to one of my favorite spots a couple blocks from the Park.  With little ones it can be so much easier to chase them around outside than it is to confine them to a studio set.  Its also good exercise for me! Dan and I really enjoyed working with the Leehane’s.  I had photographed the kids in the studio awhile back and was excited about taking photos of the family this time. Thanks to the Leehane’s for coming to visit Bliss once again. I hope you enjoy your sneak peak….we got some awesome family shots!

Photo Safari…

Its not very often we get out to photograph for a day just for ourselves.  We are usually too busy and just don’t have a free day.  But just a couple of weeks ago we found ourselves with a free Sunday and decided to go out on a photo safari and see what we could get.  Dan and I took our good friend Jonny with us who brought along an old Polaroid Camera that I was in love with.  The effect that the Polaroid captured was what we all try to accomplish in photoshop. It had a very vintage feel to each image. I stole all the Polaroids from Jonny (Thanks Jonny!) and have them up in my office for inspiration!  In the images below you will see a shot of Jonny and his camera as well as a shot of the camera with an image it took. For our Photo Safari we drove out 99W and just pulled over when we felt inspired. Our favorite spot was this old mill in Newberg, OR.  We also stopped at a few Vineyards along the way…We couldn’t resist!  All in all it was a beautiful, fun day and I hope we can have another adventure soon!  Here is just a few of the images I shot along the way! Hope you enjoy…

No Trespassing…OOPS!

“Unclaimed Wishes”

My hubby claims I “stole” this shot from him according to his facebook post…Hmmm….I can’t help it if we both see the same shot!  I did not know he shot this until we got back home and compared images. Dont tell him…but Mine is better! ha ha

I braved the zillion bees buzzing around for this shot…(have I told you that I am afraid of bees?)

Reif Family

What an adorable family!  We were supposed to just take some “urban” shoots of the two boys but I took one look at the family and insisted on taking just a couple casual family shots.  They all looked so cute and were dressed perfectly! This is another perfect example of how to dress Urban.  It was a another windy day in Reno but the boys had hair that was not going anywhere so we braved the wind. Thanks to the Reif Family for your patience in seeing your sneak peak!  I hope you enjoy my favorites…

Mckenzie’s Senior Session

Mckenzie is graduating from High School this June and came in for some last minute senior photos. We were not sure how the weather was going to hold out for us but we decided we would shoot indoor if we had to. I must say I was so excited to see the sun shinning!  It was a little windy but we made it!  I took Mckenzie to Newberg for her session.  The day before Dan and I had went on a Photo Safari scouting new locations and just taking some random photos for fun (stay tuned for some images from that day).  While we were out we found a fabulous spot in Newberg that I could not wait to take a senior for their Urban Session.  Mckenzie was happy to help out :)    Thanks to Mckenzie and her mom, Connie, for coming to see me! I had a wonderful time seeing/working with you both!  Here are a couple of my favorites…

McKemy Girls Urban Session…

Some of you may have seen these photos on my blog a while back.  But I have made a fun Music DVD Slideshow for them and I wanted to post it on my blog.  For those of you interested in an Urban Session this is a good sample of what to wear and what to expect!

Enjoy…

Harris Family…

I have finally finished getting all the sneak peaks up from my California shoots and am now moving on to Reno. Thanks to everyone for their patience I am working as fast as I can :)    My first session in Reno was the wonderful Harris Family. This was my second opprotunity to take photos of them. For this session we went for a different look and I took them into downtown Reno to get a more Urban Session.  This is of course my favorite type of session.  Fun and Funky!  The kids were great despite the fact it was a little chilly and REALLY windy!  We made it work though and got some awesome images! Thanks to the Harris family for having me take photos of you guys once again. I had a wonderful time and I hope you enjoy all your images!  Here is your sneak peak of my favorites…

Little Alyx…

My last session of my California trip was little Alyx! She also doubles as my little “niece”! We took her to the beach/harbor for her 1 year photo session. I am working on a First Year Album for her and this was her final session to complete her book. Alyx has such a huge personality. It was so much fun chasing her around. Here are a couple of my favorites from her session…

Maddy & Mia…

Two of my favorite girls to photograph!  I visited the Heckmann girls my last trip to California. We took these photos around their house which has the most awesome spots to take photos.  The girls were amazing for me as always!  Thanks for having me out to visit!  See you guys again in the fall!

Here is your sneak peak…
