NEW BLISS LOGO!

I know I have been dropping hints of a Re-Brand of Bliss and its officially begun!  In creating a new look we have to start with the most important thing first…the Logo! Once the logo is complete the rest of the branding needs to tie in and seems to fall into place much easier. I know in a lot of ways I am just as much a graphic designer as I am a photographer.  However with a logo/brand I think it is important to hire a “Real” graphic designer to do it. I played with my new logo a bit figuring I could do it…why did I need anyone to help me?  But after days of not getting it just right….I finally gave in.  I wanted something more than I could do…Something more than I could even “see”.  I had an idea of the look and feel I wanted but could not visualize what I wanted the new logo to look like. To begin the process I spent a weekend in Reno with our very own Portrait Consultant, Teri (and also my wonderful Mom) and we went on a branding search.  We visited favorite boutiques and stores trying to find things that said “Bliss”.  I really want the studio to represent who I am and my personality.  Together we built a care package of misc goodies.  I had everything from paper to jewelry in my little package. I had textures, colors, patterns and anything that gave the feel of what I wanted. I am going to recommend creating a “Care Package” for your designer if you are wanting a logo or any other pieces designed for you.  It was the best thing I could have done.  Next I needed to find the best desinger I could as this was an important piece I was giving up and I needed to be confident that the person could put up with me! Just kidding…Once I agreed I needed a graphic designer I knew that I needed to give them my care package and then let them be creative! The graphic designer I hired is Cali with Jeca Designs (www.jecadesigns.com). I could not have been more pleased!  She took what I gave her and created a beautiful logo! In fact I was having a hard time choosing as I liked several choices she gave me. I finally had to have a little Vote on my facebook and then chatted with Cali and she narrowed it down to the final “Perfect” logo!  I want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to Cali!  You created a beautiful logo for me and I am excited to continue with the rebrand!  Any of my photographer friends who are looking to get a logo (or a new logo) email Cali…she is the best! cali@jecadesigns.com.

And finally…Here is our New Logo!

Stay tuned as I will be slowly changing the look of our blog, website and other goodies to match the new logo!

Alexandra…

Little Alexandra came in for our Halloween special for the first time. But then she was of course in an adorable flower costume. I was really looking forward to taking photos of her not in costume! Alex just turned one and was aweseom for her session.  The weather even held out for us so we could shoot a couple outside. Thanks to the Miller family for coming to see me!  Enjoy your sneak peak!

Here are my favorites…

And the Winner is…

ALYSSA COLVIN!  You have been seeing entries for Amercia’s Cutest Kid Contest since January and we finally have a winner for Oregon.  The next step is the finals.  There are 50 city finalists and only one winner will be selected for the grand prize of a $5000 savings bond and a digital camera.  No more votes are needed it is all up to the judges now.  I dont find out who wins until May but keep your fingers crossed for Alyssa!

I want to personally Thank all the people who entered this contest as well as all of you who placed votes. I have not got the final count yet but I know that the amount of money raised for the “Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep” charity was well over a hundred thousand dollars! I had 7 Bliss kids in the top 10 for Oregon so I know we raised a HUGE chunk of money for the charity and I am forever grateful to all of you! Here is a recap of all my Bliss Kids who were entered! Hugs to ALL of you!

Day at the Coast…

For Jessica’s 30th Birthday she took a group of us to the coast with her (14 people).  She rented a beautiful house just a couple blocks from the beach!  Saturday could not have been a more perfect spring day at the coast.  We walked around Lincold City, had lunch and then took a stroll on the beach to the tide pools.  It was an awesome day.  In fact I walked so much (and had little sleep from the night before) that I was plain exausted. I drove home late last night and luckily had company to keep me awake!  Here are a couple photos from our stroll down the beach…

Little Carson…

I just can not get enough of this little guys baby BLUES!  I dont know what has happened lately but I have had more kids with blue eyes then I can count.  I LOVE blue eyes! Good thing my hubby has blue eyes…ha ha! But seriously the clear blue sparkle just captures my heart.  Carson is on our baby plan and we are working on an album of his first year. This is his 6 month session.  He was so good for me!  Lots of smiles and lots of personality. The six month age is the best….They have personality, can sit up….but CAN’T get away! LOVE IT! I want to thank Dawn for driving up from Eugene to see me!  Enjoy your sneak peak of your little snuggly boy…

Happy Birthday Jess!!!

Today is my good friend Jessica’s 30th Birthday!  How exciting!  We are heading to the coast today to celebrate. She rented an awesome house and there will be 14 of us wishing her a wonderful birthday!  I wanted to post this on my blog as not too long ago (Jan) I shot some photos of her in the studio.  You may have seen them on my blog before but these images of Jessica capture just how beautiful she is! Jess also has had some hand in the studio decorating. About a month ago she helped (okay…she probably did more than help…She can do it all!) clean out our storage room and created a New Dressing Room! If you haven’t seen it yet be sure to check it out next time you stop by the studio. She rocked it!

Jessica…Everyone says your 30′s are supposed to be your best…You let me know how it goes for you and I will be following you shortly!  Happy Birthday Girl!  Let’s celebrate!

Free Session Offer…

Anyone have access to bunnies or little chicks?  I will offer a couple free sessions this month in honor of easter if you have either of those animals to bring to your session to be photographed with your child(or children).  Email or Call me ASAP if you are interested…

Smith Girls…

Boy they grow up so fast!  Little Avery is going to be One! We did this session so that we can create some birthday party invitations! LOVE IT!  I of course had to get a couple of big sister, Kylee, as well.  She did not want all the attention to be on her sister.  Avery is one of my baby plan kids and we are working on a fabulous album for her! One more session to go…

Here is a couple of my favorites

April Special!

We have a new product that we are going to offer that I am really excited about.  This is going to be “Real Life” sessions. These sessions will be in your home and will capture your child in their Real Life.  This could include getting them sleeping or at least in their own bedroom, 1 activity (could be a sport, baking cookies, bath time or something else depending on the age of the child). We will have a pre-consulation to chat about ideas on what we are looking for.  In these sessions we will be including a 20 page coffee table book. This is the part I am most excited about. I LOVE desiging albums and am looking forward to some Real Life sessions to design. If this is something you have been waiting for give me a call or send me an email so we can chat about your session!

For April….

These sessions are going to be $999 which will include the session and the album. The April special will only be $699!  This is a big savings!  I will give this discount to the first 3 people who contact me. I need some samples and I am looking for some special kids and a variety of ages.

Reno clients…My plan is to come to Reno the end of the month so you can take part in this special. I will be limiting my Reno Real Life Sessions to two discounted sessions this month.

I hope to hear from some of you soon!
