Multnomah Days-Aug. 21 9am-4pm

This year we have jumped on board and will be joining multnomah days tomorrow!  We will have an adorable booth (must come by to see it!) and will have 8 Bliss Kids walking

in the parade for us! The kids will be pulling wagons with images of themselves on the wagon…SO CUTE!  I am excited to be a part of this event!  If you are in the Portland area I hope

you will come by and see us!  We will be having a drawing in our booth as well as a “show special”.

Here are the Bliss Kids who will be representing us….You dont want to miss these cuties walking in a parade do you???

Pin Up Party…

I had a PinUp Party with Melissa, Shannon and Samantha awhile back but Samantha’s husband checks my blog. Her images were a surprise for their anniversary so if he say any of the images of Shannon or Melissa on the blog he might have had a clue.  So Sam asked me to hold off until their anniversary. Sam’s images were posted on a previous post but I still wanted to show a couple from her friends. All three girls were a blast to work with! One of the reasons I wanted to shoot Boudoir Sessions was so I could help capture the Beauty in women. I dont want to change who someone is but instead find their inner beauty and capture it. Clients who seem to be nervous at first I can quickly make feel at ease. PinUp Parties also seem to help with the nerves. Instead…Everyone gets excited and it becomes a Party! Just in case you are wondering…At a PinUp party everyone is not in the room watching while you get photographed.  I have Laura doing makeup in the front room and then put on music or a movie in the sales room until it is your turn. If this is something you are interested in doing contact me and we can chat some more.

Picking the images to post on my blog from a boudoir session is always a challenge. My favorites are not always “appropriate” blog posts. As of now I am only showcasing boudoir images on the blog so its important to me that I get to post at least a couple. I thank all my clients for letting me do so! I have many sample images/albums in the studio and would be happy to share with anyone interested in a session.

Little Bliss Friends

I know this is a silly post but I could not help myself. We have a bunch of squirrels that wonder around my complex and are the BRAVEST squirrels I have even seen.  They come all the way up to my front door and “beg” for food…Like a dog! Its crazy.  They cause me to feel guilty when I dont have anything to give them. I think I need squirrel food? Whatever that would be? Any suggestions?  I tried to give this little guy chips but he was not interested. I am pretty sure if I had something he did like he would have took it from my hand. Dan said I gave him the wrong kind of chips…Doritos would have been better. However I dont think Doritos are good for animals? I mean they are not good for us right?

Before and After…

I love this shot I took of little Demi last week. Its a good example of how even though I “see” a shot its not always the way I had envisioned it until I put my finishing touch on it.  When I edit I do add a finish to most of the images but there is always a few that I want to add a little extra special “Whitney Twist” to it. I know you guys all get to see the finished product but this one had a dramatic change that I thought you might like to see a before and after.

Here is the Before (still a good shot…just not quite the punch I wanted. I was drawn to the tuscan wall and the way the light was falling across it)

You might be thinking that shot is just fine? And that might be the case. However it wasnt quite what I wanted. So with a little work on the image here is the final look that I was hoping for…

An official sneak peak for the Reynolds family will be up soon…Just wanted to share a little from the other side! Enjoy!

Reno-Sushi Teri

I have made it to Reno and of course I have to hit my favorite places while I am in town. I have a couple boutique stores that I LOVE to visit such as Lodo Loft.  Today I found a new gem that I am so excited about. Red Chair. It is a unique boutique that has a style that is new, funky and mid-century modern.  The owner, Aaryn Walker, is fabulous and is going to let me borrow a few furniture items for some shoots this weekend. I could not be more excited!  If you are in Reno take some time to check out her store!

After we visit all my favorite boutiques….we start hitting my favorite places to eat. First (and usually a few more times than just once) is my favorite Sushi place.  It’s named after my mom (Teri)….Okay not really…but it helps add to its appeal.  It is the most hole in the wall place but is the best Sushi. The Lilly Roll is my favorite. The wonderful guys who work there make me whatever I want. They know “Miss Picky” has arrived when I come but they handle it with flying colors and make me smile. Hugo knows my family and knows that I must make a couple trips to visit Sushi Teri when I am in town. I thank them all for making me delicious Sushi!  Here is a couple shots from Sushi Teri…Including one of Hugo!  Thanks for letting me post your photo Hugo!

What did we do in Mexico?

Nothing! We spent almost everyday at the pool/beach and volleyball courts.  So I guess that is something?  Kim Welker….client, friend and guest at the wedding here took a couple shots of Dan and I. (THANKS KIM!)  We were all cracking up at the shot of us in the pool.  Well…Dan in the pool…..and me “pretending” to be in the pool. The last shot is of us at the rehersal dinner.  Stay tuned for more…

Since the rehersal dinner fell on Valentines Day they handmade special Valentine Cards for everyone…SO CUTE!

Puerto Vallarta!

I am in Mexico!  Some of you may have seen my newsletter that said I would be shooting an awesome wedding in Cabo?  Well….I am crazy…The wedding is NOT in Cabo nor are we.  We are in beautiful Puerto Vallarta! When we landed though the fight attendant said welcome to Cabo! I was cracking up….I must be in Cabo?  Dan and I flew here yesterday and had a small layover in L.A.  As we were waiting for the flight to PV we ran into our Bride and Groom!  Josh and Ciara were flying from Reno but somehow we managed to book the same exact flight AND the same exit row!  It was great! I have a couple photos that I will post soon….

Please know that I have NO phone service while I am here until next monday.  If you need anything please email me. I will be checking emails when I can. Will keep everyone posted on our fabulous vacation!
